PSD Board

Role of the Board of Directors

The members of the Board of Directors actively participate in Progressive San Diego by determining policy, raising funds and monitoring performance for the organization. Specifically, the Board:

 

  • Approves the Annual Workplan and Budget;
  • Endorses candidates for public office and ballot initiatives;
  • Nominates and elects Directors and Officers;
  • Hires staff for the organization; and
  • Provides for the management of PSD in compliance with the organization's Articles, Bylaws and Standing Rules.
Responsibilities of the Board of Directors
Ambassador: Directors should represent the guiding principles of the organization, while working to build relationships and connections with other progressives.
Meeting Attendance: Directors attend board meetings and participate on at least one committee (Development, Budget and Operations, Elections and Initiatives).
Term: Directors serve an 18-month term (unlimited number) to ensure staggered elections of directors as well as consistency within the organization.
Criteria: Directors must be registered to vote in San Diego County and must subscribe to the organization's values and mission.
